Nate McMillan and the Atlanta Hawks entered the season as one of the most exciting young teams in the East. But after getting off to a 29-30 start, the team has decided to let the 58-year-old go.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks dismissed McMillan on Tuesday, whose team currently sits at eighth in the conference.

McMillan took over for Lloyd Pierce in the 2020-2021 season and led Atlanta to a 27-11 record down the stretch; appearing in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Bucks.
Last year, the team took a bit of a step back going 43-39 before getting bounced in the first-round vs. Miami.
Now for the second season in a row, the Hawks have slid in the standings again and it ultimately cost McMillan his job; despite boasting the explosive backcourt of Trae Young and DeJounte Murray.
