The team announced extensions for its young stars and other roster moves on Friday.

The Atlanta Hawks have announced a few of their reported roster moves after what was a busy week for the organization.

Both Trae Young and John Collins’ extensions were announced by the club via press release on Friday afternoon. Each player signed a five-year pact with the option to opt out after the fourth year of the respective contracts.

“I’m grateful to the Hawks, the Ressler family, my teammates and the entire Atlanta community for embracing me from the very beginning,” Young said. “I’m honored and excited to keep building with this great organization.”

“It’s a blessing to stay where I started my career and continue to give my all for the fans and for the city of Atlanta,” said Collins of his extension. “Last season was just a start for us and I know even better things are ahead. I want to thank the Hawks for their belief in me and I can’t wait to get started again.”

Atlanta also announced the re-signing of Lou Williams, who will return to the Hawks on a 1-year, $5 million deal.

“Lou proved invaluable to our team after we acquired him last season, providing scoring, ballhandling and leadership off our bench,” said Hawks President of Basketball Operations/GM Travis Schlenk. “He’s a respected veteran who our guys really look up to and enjoy playing with, and we’re certainly pleased that he’s continuing his career in an Atlanta uniform.”

The Hawks have yet to announce their acquisition of veteran guard Delon Wright, but that should come sooner than later. Atlanta kicks off Summer League play Sunday vs. the Boston Celtics at 4 pm ET.

Stay tuned.
