The Atlanta Hawks have signed center Christian Koloko to a two-way contract. The 7-foot center joins Atlanta after appearing in 13 games with the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies this season.
Koloko has averaged 2.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 block in 15.5 minutes across his 13 appearances this season, making two starts. Selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 33rd overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, he has played in 108 games across three NBA seasons with Toronto, Los Angeles and Memphis. He owns career averages of 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 12.5 minutes while shooting .502 from the field.
The center has recorded 16 career games with two or more blocks, including a career-high six blocks in a victory over Chicago on Nov. 6, 2022. Among all qualifying players in the 2022-23 season, Koloko ranked 25th in blocks per game at 0.98 per contest. His shot-blocking ability represents his primary NBA skill as a defensive rim protector.
Koloko has also played 29 NBA G League games over three seasons, making 26 starts. In the G League, Koloko has averaged 12.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.9 blocks in 27.4 minutes.
