The Atlanta Hawks have waived guard Deivon Smith. The Hawks had signed Smith to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract.
Smith is expected to join the College Park Skyhawks for the upcoming G League season.
Atlanta’s roster now stands at 19 players. The Hawks have Charles Bassey, Lamont Butler and Caleb Houstan signed to non-guaranteed camp deals. Atlanta has two open standard spots on their regular season roster. NBA teams can only carry fewer than 14 players for short periods of time. That increases the chances that at least one of Bassey, Butler or Houstan will make the Hawks opening night roster.
