The Atlanta Hawks signed center Malik Williams to a two-way contract Tuesday after the 6-foot-11 big man posted impressive numbers with the College Park Skyhawks in the G League this season.
Williams has appeared in 14 games with College Park, averaging career highs of 16.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 24.6 minutes.
The Fort Wayne, Indiana, native was one of only eight players in the NBA G League to average at least 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds during the Tip-Off Tournament. He recorded 16.1 points and 10.7 rebounds across 12 games in that portion of the season.
Williams secured seven double-doubles within a 10-game span from Nov. 29 to Dec. 22. He posted back-to-back outings with 20-plus points and 15-plus rebounds on Dec. 12 and Dec. 14.
The 25-year-old has appeared in seven career NBA games, all during the 2023-24 season with the Toronto Raptors. He averaged 2.7 points and 5.4 rebounds in 15.3 minutes during that stint.
In 100 NBA G League contests across three seasons with Sioux Falls and College Park, Williams owns career averages of 13.0 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 blocks in 24.6 minutes. He has started 75 of those games.
Williams went undrafted in 2022 and appeared in 31 games for Anwil Wloclawek in Poland during the 2022-23 season. He averaged 8.1 points and 5.5 rebounds in 17.7 minutes overseas.
In 122 collegiate games across five seasons at Louisville, Williams averaged 7.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 17.9 minutes. He started 62 games during his college career.
