There is currently no “meaningful traction” between the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks over an Anthony Davis trade, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
The Hawks’ willingness to acquire Davis could also depend on whether the team can move Trae Young’s salary.
With the Mavs looking for expiring deals, young assets, and picks, Young would not be part of a deal between the two teams.
The Hawks reportedly would be willing to part ways with Zaccharie Risacher in the “right deal,” though Stein adds that a move for Davis would not meet those requirements.
It is believed that with the Mavs in contact with Davis’ agent Rich Paul, the team would not make a move without his input. Paul is reportedly high on the Hawks as a potential Davis destination.
