He’ll seemingly seek a basketball career elsewhere.

The king of preseason buzzer-beaters has been released from this unguaranteed two-way contract.

The Atlanta Hawks drafted Seth Lundy 46th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, but after having made a minimal impact on the regular season in the season and a half since, he has been waived per HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, who had the news first.

The Atlanta Hawks are waiving two-way guard Seth Lundy, sources told @hoopshype. Lundy is hurt with an ankle injury. He played in 9 games for Atlanta last season and averaged 20.4 points on 40% from 3-point range on 9 attempts per game, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in the G League pic.twitter.com/oAirEDjXUQ

Seth Lundy appeared in nine games with the Hawks, all last season, after signing a single-season two-way deal in the 2023 offseason. He re-upped after hitting restricted free agency by signing his qualifying offer — another two-way contract for this season.

In 25 games with the College Park Skyhawks in 2023-24, Lundy averaged 20.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game with a 46/40/80 shooting triple slash.

Lundy has struggled with injuries since being drafted however, and he is currently on the shelf after an offseason surgery to address a bone spur in his left ankle. He initially sprained it in the preseason, and as a result he had yet to appear with either the Hawks or the Skyhawks this year.

His release means the Hawks may look to sign 2024 second-round draftee Nikola Djurisic or someone else to the open two-way contract spot.
