It’s been a rocky season for Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
Understandably, Young is frustrated by the inconsistency shown by his team throughout a 41-41 regular season. And it appears that frustration has bled into the postseason.
Early in tonight’s Play-In matchup against the Miami Heat, video was captured of a visibly-incensed Young shouting at someone on the court.
The video is going viral on social media.

Despite the addition of All-Star guard Dejounte Murray prior to the 2022-23 season, the Hawks have failed to reach the expectations set in front of them. Their .500 record earned them a spot in this year’s Play-In game — a massive step down from their Eastern Conference Finals run in 2021.
It’s been a tumultuous season for the entire franchise. The midseason removal of former general manager Travis Schlenk and head coach Nate McMillan didn’t result in an immediate payoff as the team has continued to struggle under new head coach Quinn Snyder.
According to recent reports from Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Atlanta front office has given Snyder and new GM Landry Fields the green light to trade anyone on the Hawks’ current roster — including Young.
That type of move could all depend on the Hawks’ success in this year’s postseason. If Atlanta beats the Heat tonight, they’ll claim the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference and will face off against the Boston Celtics in Round 1.
The Hawks lead the Heat 65-50 at halftime. Young has 13 points, six rebounds and six assists.
