Your starting lineup of must-dos for your next trip to Atlanta

Not only is it home to the Atlanta Braves, but the city of Atlanta also offers rich history, good eats, and attractions for people of all ages. Whether it’s your first or 100th time in Atlanta, there is quite literally a never-ending supply of things to do. Regardless if your niche is history, athletic attractions, or simply basking in the Georgia heat, we’ve got you covered with attractions to keep you entertained. So, let’s dig into our lineup of nine must-dos on your next trip to ATL.

1. World of Coca-Cola

Leading off with a classic: The World of Coca-Cola. Nestled in the heart of Atlanta, the World of Coca-Cola is a blast for all ages. At this engaging attraction, patrons have the opportunity to enjoy the tasting room, reminisce on the brand’s history, and even grab a souvenir at the Coca-Cola store. Spend a couple of hours here and immerse yourself in all there is to know about one of the most iconic beverages in the world.

2. College Football Hall of Fame

Switch out your Braves cap for a football one as you stroll through the College Football Hall of Fame. Whether you’re a die-hard or a casual viewer, take some time to explore the 50,000 square feet of exhibit space. In this interactive exhibit, put your football skills to the test at the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Skills Zone. Then, check out the iconic helmet wall and take in all the historic memorabilia dedicated to college football greats. This attraction is sure to leave you counting down the days ‘til kickoff.

3. Buttermilk Kitchen

If there’s any suggestion I beg you to listen to, it’s this one. Start your morning the right way and indulge in a chicken biscuit from Buttermilk Kitchen. Located in Buckhead, this spot is the definition of Southern comfort food. This place truly cannot be described until you’ve tried it for yourself.

4. Atlanta Beltline

If you’re looking for some exercise coupled with several activities, check out the Atlanta Beltline. The 22-mile trail loops around the city and connects 45 neighborhoods. Stop and enjoy the city lights or take advantage of the many shopping and dining options. Feeling super motivated? Take part in some of the FREE fitness classes offered throughout the Beltline. This attraction is guaranteed to provide a different vibe compared to the fast-paced city life.

5. Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Make a pit stop at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta’s World-Class Venue. Home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC, the stadium offers an incredible gameday experience. No football or soccer games? No problem! The stadium is also known to host high-profile concerts and offers 90-minute stadium tours. Come visit the site of Super Bowl LIII for yourself!

6. Stone Mountain Park

Looking to escape the city crowd for a bit? Head just 16 miles east of Atlanta and take in the beauty that Stone Mountain Park has to offer. Situated on 3,200 acres of land, the park is home to mountaintop views, scenic cable car rides, lakeside trails, and so much more. The park even offers up a bit of history, making it a versatile escape for visitors of all ages.

7. Centennial Olympic Park

Continue the legacy of 1996 and spend the afternoon at Centennial Olympic Park, home of the ‘96 Summer Olympic Games. The 21-acre space in downtown Atlanta has evolved to become a hub for community and recreation. Be sure to take in the Fountain of Rings, the world’s largest interactive fountain designed to replicate the Olympic rings symbol. If you’re looking for another slice of history, stroll through the park with the Audio Walking Tour. No matter what you’re looking for, this attraction offers a good time for all.

8. SkyView Atlanta

At the south end of Centennial Olympic Park sits SkyView Atlanta, a ferris wheel that offers panoramic views of the breathtaking Atlanta skyline. Hovering nearly 20 stories above the park, this attraction provides unforgettable city views and is perfectly situated just steps from other major attractions.

9. The Battery

No list is complete without mention of the Battery. At the heart of Braves Country, there are countless things to do right outside the entrance gates of Truist Park. Grab a bite to eat at Yard House, enjoy a pour from Blue Moon Brewery, catch a show at the Coca-Cola Roxy theater, or treat yourself to the several boutiques scattered throughout. The Battery is much more than a pre-game nook and is guaranteed to be a cherished destination for everyone.

Honorable Mentions: A steak dinner at Marcel, a leisurely stroll through the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and a shopping spree at Lenox Square.

So you came for the baseball, but you stayed for the biscuits. But, seriously, each of these nine attractions provides the perfect mix of history, culture, and Southern hospitality. Whether here for the weekend or looking to kill time before first pitch, these attractions are the way to go.
