Here are some fast facts about the first MLB speedway classic
“On your mark, get set… Pitch!”
Well, it won’t be quite like that in today’s game, but you can almost envision it as the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves finale will be played in one of NASCAR’s most iconic tracks: Bristol Motor Speedway, also known as Thunder Valley.
Already setting the record for the most MLB tickets sold at 85,000, this first ever Tennessee-located MLB game is sure to be a game to witness.
Country singers, race car accents and NASCAR inspired uniforms for the teams will be showcased for the game, with the Reds taking the home team title, and the Braves representing “away.”
Taking about three years to plan and set up was an on-going collaboration to join the world of NASCAR with MLB to grow the sport in a different venue and location for fans to come from all over to enjoy.
First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. ET.
