The league and players union agreed to move up the arbitration exchange deadline by 24 hours.

Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Union agreed to move up the deadline for arbitration exchange from this Friday evening to this Thursday evening, according to the AP news.

The deadline marks the day players and teams must either reach an arbitration settlement or submit salary figures to an arbitration panel for final decision.

The Braves started the off-season with as many as 13 arbitration eligible players, but through a flurry of trades, waiver claims, and non-tenders, that list has been whittled down to just two: RP AJ Minter and SP Max Fried. As recently as last week there were 3 players still on the list but Atlanta has since reached a settlement with SP Huascar Ynoa for the 2024 season, leaving just Minter and Fried left. For both Fried and Minter, this marks their last years of arbitration, meaning if neither comes to terms on a long-term extension, both will free agents after the 2024 season.

The deadline is set for 8:00 pm EST Thursday night. No reason was given for why the deadline was moved up to Thursday.
