In 2025, that is
You knew this was coming. The Braves somehow didn’t hit a homer against the Rockies at Coors Field, which was pretty much emblematic of their downfall. Seriously:
- From the home opener until the visit to Coors Field, the Braves had a .354 xwOBA (second among MLB teams) and .349 wOBA (first among MLB teams).
- From the visit to Coors Field through May 21, which can be seen as a breakpoint for wheeling their offensive approach back around to hitting the ball hard, the Braves had a .312 xwOBA (24th in MLB) and a .305 wOBA (20th in MLB).
- Since May 22, the Braves have a .336 xwOBA (ninth in MLB) but just a .308 wOBA (18th in MLB). So that’s a somewhat different issue.
The idea is that whatever happened started at Coors Field for some reason, and it led to zero homers against the Rockies. Well, those Rockies are back now, and though they’re not in Coors Field, you get to weigh in on whether it’s homer time against them at last. Because if not… things might go very sour this weekend.
