Atlanta looks to bring the bats to life in series opener against San Diego
The Atlanta Braves will continue their homestand Friday when they begin a four-game series against the San Diego Padres. Max Fried will get the start for Atlanta while right-hander Matt Waldron will be on the mound for San Diego.
The Braves will be without third baseman Austin Riley for the fourth straight game. Brian Snitker said during Wednesday’s broadcast that Riley was still feeling soreness in his side. Riley remains on the active roster which is a good sign and Atlanta will hopefully have him back sometime this weekend. Zack Short will start in place of Riley at third base and bat ninth.
