Lineup and bullpen reinforcements arrive.

The Braves have added outfielder Jorge Soler and Richard Rodriguez to their active roster in time for Saturday night’s game against the Brewers. To make room for the two trade deadline acquisitions, the club optioned Sean Newcomb and Orlando Arcia to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Soler, who was acquired from Kansas City in exchange for right handed pitching prospect Kasey Kalich, is having a poor season overall but has been on fire over the last couple weeks, hitting six homers over his last 10 games with the Royals. He is expected to serve in a platoon of some kind, although it remains to be seen how Brian Snitker will utilize the tantalizing 29-year-old slugger.

Rodriguez, who came over from Pittsburgh in exchange for Bryse Wilson and prospect Ricky DeVito, will likely serve as a 7th or 8th inning option in the Braves’ beleaguered bullpen. Rodriguez is having a strong season overall with a 2.82 ERA, 22.8 K% and 3.4 BB%, although he was not been as efficient since May 28 with a 5.40 ERA.

Adam Duvall, acquired from the Marlins for Alex Jackson, was activated prior to Friday night’s game and went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in his return to Atlanta.

The fourth trade deadline acquisition, Eddie Rosario, will likely be on the injured list for a few more weeks with an abdominal strain.

The Braves will look to get back in the win column tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers with first pitch at 7:20 p.m. ET as Kyle Muller and Brandon Woodruff take the mound.
