For the second time in one week, it is an Atlanta and New York series.
The Atlanta Braves swept the New York Mets at home last week, but then fell on their faces after losing the weekend series against the Miami Marlins. The Braves are now in New York for another chance to gain ground against the division-leading Mets in a four game affair.
Atlanta tweaked their rotation last week in order to get superstar starting pitcher Chris Sale a start this week against the Mets, but those plans were thwarted when the Braves placed Sale on the IL with a fractured rib. Now they will likely give 20-year-old rookie Didier Fuentes another start and hope to, at the least, split their four games in New York.
With a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies looming, Atlanta can’t afford a let-down against the Mets. Working with a minimal margin of error, the Braves have a tall task ahead of them this week.
Here are the start times for each of this week’s games against the Mets.
