With a few surprises along the way
The Atlanta Braves have announced their roster for the NLDS against the Milwaukee Brewers and there are a few surprises. The biggest of which is the inclusion of outfielder Terrance Gore who didn’t spend any time with the Major League club this season. Gore will serve as a pinch running option and a potential late-inning defensive replacement in the outfield.

The Braves will carry 14 position players and 12 pitchers for the NLDS. Here is the breakdown for the roster by position:
Catchers (2): Travis d’Arnaud, William Contreras
Infielders (6): Ehire Adrianza, Ozzie Albies, Orlando Arcia, Freddie Freeman, Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson
Outfielders (6): Adam Duvall, Terrence Gore, Guillermo Heredia, Joc Pederson, Eddie Rosario, Jorge Soler
Pitchers (12): Ian Anderson, Jesse Chavez, Max Fried, Luke Jackson, Dylan Lee, Tyler Matzek, A.J. Minter, Charlie Morton, Will Smith, Drew Smyly, Jacob Webb, Huascar Ynoa.
Some notable omissions include both Chris Martin and Richard Rodriguez. Martin has struggled with his health and effectiveness throughout the season. Rodriguez’s recent struggles have been well documented. Also, Spencer Strider didn’t make the cut at least for the NLDS.
