Two good weeks and a whole lot of terrible ever since.
The Braves are mercifully designating outfielder Alex Verdugo for assignment to make room for Jurickson Profar, according to a report by Ken Rosenthal.
The Braves have designated outfielder Alex Verdugo for assignment, sources tell @TheAthletic. Clearing a spot for the return of Jurickson Profar.

The move is hardly a surprise. After a couple of hot weeks to begin his tenure in Atlanta, Verdugo has been arguably the worst player in the sport. After recording a two-hit game on May 5th, Verdugo has batted .203/.257/.225 with an impossible 37 wRC+. He has three extra base hits over his last 148 plate appearances. He has one of the worst offensive approaches at the plate that I have ever seen.
And other than not being able to hit, he doesn’t field or run the bases well. On the whole, Verdugo has a -0.9 WAR, ranking him as arguably the worst non-Rockies player in the game. His -1.2 WAR since the aforementioned May 5th date is the worst in baseball, period. Good freaking riddance.
Jurickson Profar won’t save the season, but at least we won’t have to watch Verdugo in left field for another day.
