This is about as good as you can get right now

The lineups are out for the first game of this massive three-game series for the Braves against the Phillies. Let’s talk about it, shall we?

As usual, we’re starting with how the Braves look tonight:

I mean, I’m ready to watch the game — hopefully this lineup is ready to hit tonight. They’re going to have a tough task with Zack Wheeler on the mound but as far as this current incarnation of the Braves is concerned, they can’t put out a much better-looking lineup than this one. The trade deadline was very, very good to the Braves this year.

Meanwhile, here’s Philadelphia’s lineup for tonight:

This is a decent enough lineup and that’s always going to be the case when you have the likes of Bryce Harper right in the heart of it. As you’ll see below, the Braves do have the better overall lineup (generally speaking, there’s a lot more good red stuff on Atlanta’s side and a lot more blue bad stuff on Philadelphia’s side) but the Phillies still have to be taken extremely seriously because of that monster in the third spot.
