Saturday sees Braves prospects Didier Fuentes, Rayven Antonio, and Garrett Baumann all on the mound to start games,
Gwinnett Stripers at Louisville Bats – 7:15 PM ET
Pitching Probables
GWI: Jose Suarez, 0-0 3.93 ERA
LOU: Aaron Wilkerson, 3-1 4.34 ERA
The Stripers are back in action a day after falling behind 4-0 and having their comeback come up just short at 4-3. Jose Suarez is on the mound with his 3.93 ERA since being sent down. That ERA is a bit misleading since he has had three good outings before giving up six runs in his most recent start. With the lineup the guys to watch are obviously the outfield duo of Jarred Kelenic and Carlos Rodriguez, however Eddys Leonard hit his ninth homer of the season last night in the loss.
Montgomery Biscuits at Columbus Clingstones – 6:05 PM ET
Pitching Probables
MNT: Ty Johnson, 2-0 4.43 ERA
CLB: Didier Fuentes, 0-4 5.60 ERA
Didier Fuentes is back on the bump on Saturday night. After struggling a bit in his first two starts in Double-A, the 19-year-old has allowed a total of three runs in 10 innings over his last two starts, with eight hits and three walks to eight strikeouts. In the lineup Geraldo Quintero is coming off a two homer, five RBI game that gives him seven bombs on the year and runs his OPS up to .846. Ethan Workinger also added two hits and a steal in last night’s win.
Rome Emperors at Hub City Spartanburgers – 4:35 PM ET
Pitching Probables
ROM: Garrett Baumann, 0-4, 5.66 ERA
HBS: DJ McCarty, 0-2 10.45 ERA
The Rome offense is coming off a clunker yesterday, putting up just one run on only four hits. Titus Dumitru and Patrick Clohisy will be back trying to get back in the hit column after being shut down last night, though Will Verdung and EJ Exposito each had hits in the loss. Garrett Baumann will be on the mound tonight and he will be continuing his inconsistent season. Baumann allowed at least five runs in each of his first two starts, followed by four total runs in his next four starts combined, before five runs apiece in his last two outings.
Charleston RiverDogs at Augusta GreenJackets – 6:05 PM ET
Pitching Probables
CHR: Jose Urbina, 1-1 2.42 ERA
AUG: Rayven Antonio, 3-0 1.98 ERA
Augusta had a 10-3 lead last night and needed two runs in the bottom of the eighth to win 13-11. This one should be lower scoring with early season revelation Rayven Antonio on the hill. Antonio has been spectacular to start the season, breaking out as he has missed bats at a career high rate. Douglas Glod homered and batted in five runs in the win, while Isaiah Drake and Eric Hartman each reached base three times by going one for three with a pair of walks. Owen Carey also recorded a single and a walk in the win. It was another game where Augusta caused havoc on the bases, stealing five bases in six attempts.
FCL Braves at FCL Rays – 10:00 AM ET
Pitching Probables
BRA: TBD
RAY: TBD
In yesterday’s 11-4 drubbing, Jose Perdomo doubled in a pair of runs and we saw Diego Benitez hit his first homer of the season. The former top prospect shortstop Benitez is now in his third year in the FCL, and has primarily played first base with a few games at third defensively.
