Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp vs Gwinnett Stripers – 6:05 PM ET
Pitching Probables
JAX: Freddy Tarnok, 2-1 5.34 ERA
GWI: Davis Daniel, 2-3 3.68 ERA
A day after a 4-3 loss Gwinnett and Davis Daniel are back on Saturday to go against a familiar face. Former Atlanta Braves prospect Freddy Tarnok is the hurler for the Jumbo Shrimp in this one. In the lineup the outfield duo of Jarred Kelenic and Carlos Rodriguez are the pair of guys to watch, though James McCann is coming off a two for four night with his fourth homer of the season in Triple-A, after starting his season in Double-A while Sean Murphy was rehabbing.
Columbus Clingstones at Chattanooga Lookouts – 7:15 PM ET
Pitching Probables
COL: TBD
CHA: TBD
Columbus will try to bounce back from wasting a gem by their pitching staff, namely Lucas Braun on Friday night. Braun went six innings then two from Ian Mejia as the Clingstones held Chattanooga to a run on five hits and two walks, though the solo homer that Braun allowed was enough to get by Columbus considering they managed just two singles. Those singles came off the bat of a red hot Geraldo Quintero and Cody Milligan. David McCabe and Ethan Workinger will work to get back into the hit column here, though the two did combine to draw three walks last night.
Asheville Tourists vs Rome Emperors – 7:00 PM ET
Pitching Probables
ASH: Bryce Mayer, 0-1 3.38 ERA
ROM: Adam Maier, 3-2 5.01 ERA
Rome is looking to string together another win after coming up with a 4-3 win in extra innings on Friday night. We will get to watch Adam Maier pitch in this one. The Rome lineup has added a little intrigue of late with the recent hot stretch from Will Verdung, joining Patrick Clohisy, Titus Dumitru, and Ambioris Tavarez as players to watch in the Emperors lineup.
Augusta GreenJackets at Myrtle Beach Pelicans – 4:35 PM ET -Game 1
Pitching Probables
AUG: Rayven Antonio, 3-0 2.81 ERA
MBP: TBD
Augusta is back in action after two days off thanks to rain on Thursday and power issues on Friday. This is the first game of a doubleheader and will see Rayven Antonio make a start trying to bounce back from his worst outing of the year. That worst start wasn’t exactly ugly either, as he gave up four runs in four and two thirds innings after allowing his first two homers of the season. Beyond Antonio the focus will be on the Augusta lineup that features John Gil, Owen Carey, Eric Hartman, and Nick Montgomery among others.
Augusta GreenJackets at Myrtle Beach Pelicans – TBD -Game 2
Pitching Probables
AUG: TBD
MBP: TBD
Game 2 is set to start shortly after the conclusion of the first game ends and will give us another shot at watching the exciting Augusta lineup.
FCL Rays vs FCL Braves
Pitching Probables
RAY: TBD
BRA: TBD
A day after a 7-4 loss to the FCL Rays, the Braves FCL team is back in action at home. This team hasn’t been good overall so far this season, but Jose Perdomo is a player worth tracking closely. Also catcher Manuel Dos Passos has been hot recently, going 6-10 with three doubles, a homer, and five RBI over his past three games to bring his OPS up to .933. It’s also worth noting that Junior Garcia is coming off not just a three-hit day, but a three-extra-base-hit day with a homer and a pair of doubles.
