Ian Anderson takes to the mound for the Stripers this afternoon.
(35-27) Memphis Redbirds @ (24-40) Gwinnett Stripers – 12:05 PM ET
Pitching Probables
MEM: Tekoah Roby 0-0
GWI: Ian Anderson (1-2, 4.50 ERA)
After a strong pitching performance by the Stripers bullpen in yesterday’s game, they will be handing the ball off to Ian Anderson who looks to pick up his second win of the season. The Stripers offense has struggled to produce, especially of late, summarized best with the fact that Carlos Rodríguez’s .702 OPS lead the team in yesterday’s defeat. Jarred Kelenic will hopefully get things going as he has been slumping hard and now finds himself with a .622 OPS on the season. With an early game today, it’s fair to expect James McCann getting the start and he’s been the strongest hitter for the Stripers this season hitting .281/.319/.484 in 35 games.
(26-31) Knoxville Smokies @ (24-30) Columbus Clingstones – 7:05 PM ET
Pitching Probables
KNX: Chris Kachmar (2-4, 4.19 ERA)
COL: TBD
The Clingstones look to continue their winning ways and build off of yesterday’s seven run performance. E.J. Exposito lengthens the Clingstones lineup quite a bit giving them a formidable middle of the lineup with Ethan Workinger, David McCabe, Drew Compton, and E.J.
Landon Harper saved the Clingstones’s bullpen finishing the game’s final four innings giving the Clingstones a full bullpen to work with in today’s game.
(38-19) Greensboro Grasshoppers @ (27-31) Rome Emperors – 7:00 PM ET
Pitching Probables
GRN: Khristian Curtis (1-4, 5.97 ERA)
ROM: Herick Hernandez (0-4, 6.07 ERA)
The Emperors look to get back in the win column and turn to Herick Hernandez who looks to pick up his first win of the season. The Rome offense was held to just six hits and one walk yesterday so look for the trio up top of Lizandro Espinoza, Patrick Clohisy, and Titus Dumitru look to rebound from their dreadful 0-for-12 performance from yesterday.
Will Verdung has been Rome’s hottest hitter as he’s now hitting .299/.388/.358 on the season. Meanwhile, Justin Janas looks to build off of yesterday’s impressive three hit performance.
(30-26) Augusta GreenJackets @ (28-30) Charleston RiverDogs – 7:05 PM ET
Pitching Probables
AUG: Luis Arestigueta (0-1, 4.88 ERA)
CHA: Trevor Harrison (4-2, 3.22 ERA)
Luis Arestigueta looks for win #1 of the season as the GreenJackets look to make it win #31 of their own in a strong first half for the young team. The GreenJackets posses the organization’s most intriguing offensive lineup with John Gil, Owen Carey, Isaiah Drake, and Nick Montgomery leading the way. Mason Guerra is coming off of a multi hit game and has a strong .831 OPS to start the season.
