GWI: Hurston Waldrep (4-5, 6.35 ERA)

The Stripers lost both ends of a doubleheader last night, 8-1 and 8-3, and return to an intriguing pitching matchup. Cardinals prospect Michael McGreevy has been excellent this year for Memphis, while Hurston Waldrep has been up and down with his performance. The player to watch for Gwinnett is Nacho Alvarez, who was two for three with a double and two walks in his season debut for the Stripers after just coming off his rehab assignment. He, Jarred Kelenic, Carlos Rodriguez, and James McCann will be the guys tasked with getting the offense going on Saturday.

Knoxville Smokies at Columbus Clingstones -6:05 PM ET – Game 2

The Clingstones are set to play two on Saturday as their game was suspended in the third inning due to rain last night. Ethan Workinger, David McCabe, and Geraldo Quintero are all in the lineup for the first game, and then after a short turnaround Game 2 will get underway.

Greensboro Grasshoppers at Rome Emperors – 7:00 PM ET

Pitching Probables

GRN: Hung-Leng Chang (3-2, 5.84 ERA)

ROM: Adam Maier (3-4, 4.85 ERA)

Rome is coming off a 4-2 win on Friday thanks to three runs late in the game and a strong start with five scoreless from Garrett Baumann. They’ll turn to Adam Maier today and have the rehabbing Luke Waddell and Jose Devers in the lineup as well as the usual standouts in Patrick Clohisy, Will Verdung, and Ambioris Tavarez.

Augusta GreenJackets at Charleston RiverDogs – 6:05 PM ET

Pitching Probables

AUG: Cam Caminiti (0-0, 1.80 ERA)

CHA: Jose Urbina (3-1, 2.72 ERA)

The GreenJackets look to get back into the win column and will see Cam Caminiti make his second start for them. Caminiti was excellent in his first outing, giving up a run over five innings with eight strikeouts. The stars of the Augusta lineup remain John Gil, Owen Carey, and Isaiah Drake, though Nick Montgomery has shown some flashes with homers over the past week.
