
Good Day All Around for the Braves.
AJ Smith Shawver looked spectacular on Monday in a 4-0 win over the Reds.
Though his bid for a no-hitter came up a bit short, he was truly dominant for most of the game in the best start so far of his young career. He continues to look like a pitcher who his finally figuring out how to effectively use his high level of natural “stuff”, and potential is starting to turn into production. It is happening at a great time too as the Braves are in another stretch to get some needed wins in early May.
Monday was a nice, easy victory for the Braves. A few more of the those in the near future, and the season really will be going in a good direction.

At first, he was going to have to head back to Los Angeles for one final observation. However, it was confirmed later in the afternoon on Monday that Ronald Acuna Jr. does not need another trip to LA, and it is up to the Braves and himself of when he will be ready to take the next step (mainly starting a rehab assignment) in his return to play.
The Braves did a good job of getting some positive value from their season series against the Dodgers following the win on Sunday.

Unfortunately, Reds rookie Tyler Calihan did suffer a broken left forearm after his outstanding effort to catch the flyball off the bat of Matt Olson on Monday. He is expected to have surgery.
