Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday
The Atlanta Braves made a couple of moves Thursday as the arbitration deadline finally arrived. Max Fried and the Braves avoided arbitration after the two agreed to a one-year, $15M deal. The southpaw was projected to make $14.4M in his last season of arbitration eligibility. Following the 2024 season, Fried will become a free agent.
The Braves also avoided arbitration with relief pitcher A.J. Minter, who signed a one-year deal Thursday. Minter was projected to obtain a $6.5M salary in 2024 but instead will make $6.22M.

After quite the busy offseason, the Braves will have no players that go onto arbitration.

The New York Yankees and right-hander Marcus Stroman agreed to a two-year deal worth $37M. The contract includes a player option for 2026 worth $18M. The club also signed right-hander Luke Weaver to a one-year deal, per report.
The New York Yankees have reportedly made an offer to starting pitcher Blake Snell.
The Cincinnati Reds have agreed to a one-year deal with lefty Brent Suter. The 34-year-old is guaranteed $3M.
