The Atlanta Braves announced Thursday that they have optioned right-hander Bryce Elder to Triple-A Gwinnett. Elder’s move to Gwinnett cleared a roster spot for starting pitcher Spencer Strider, who will return from a hamstring injury in the coming days.

25-year-old Elder’s most recent start for the Braves came on Wednesday, where he threw six innings of one-run ball against the Washington Nationals. Overall this season, he’s logged 44 innings and produced a 4.50 ERA.
The Braves have not yet announced a corresponding move.
