Big games from Ronald Acuna Jr., Marcell Ozuna, and Austin Riley resulted in a 10-7 win over the Royals. Yes, it is a bit late for the these games to make a difference in the standings, but stretches of success are never a bad thing for an offense that badly needs to show signs of life.
Off the field, Michael Harris II was recognized for what he had down on the field over the previous week as he won NL Player of the Week. He has been tremendous since the All-Star Break, including a historical weekend of production in Texas.
Atlanta also was busy as they try to find reinforcements for their MASH unit of a rotation. The Braves acquired veteran Carlos Carrasco from the Yankees on Monday, and Carrasco will likely start on Thursday. That is two vets in two days that the the Braves have added in Erick Fedde and Carrasco, in the hope each can eat innings for the rest of the season.
