
Atlanta Braves news and notes from Friday.
As reported Thursday, the Atlanta Braves made a series of roster moves following the appalling contest with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Up first, the club announced that right-hander Craig Kimbrel was selected to the major league roster. Dylan Dodd also earned a promotion and was recalled to Atlanta.
To continue the flurry of roster moves, Atlanta placed Daysbel Hernandez on the 15-day injured list due to forearm inflammation and then traded RHP Scott Blewett to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash.

So far, Kimbrel has been the only one to see game action as a result of the roster moves. Friday night, he went one inning against the San Francisco Giants. He allowed one hit, one walk, and recorded a strikeout. It marked his first appearance for the Braves since 2014.

Arizona Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes will undergo Tommy John surgery, causing him to miss the remainder of 2025 and possibly all of 2026.
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle will miss 8 to 12 weeks due to a Grade 2 hamstring strain. Currently on the 10-day injured list, he will eventually be transferred to the 60-day.
Cleveland Guardians right-hander Shane Bieber experienced a setback in his rehab assignment and was scratched from his start with elbow soreness. He will be reevaluated next week.
