Braves News: Drake Baldwin, Ronald Acuna Jr. Speedway Classic, More

The Braves rookie catcher enjoyed the best game of his career thus far.

In a season full of struggles and few successes, one of the biggest bright spots in the present and future has been Drake Baldwin. Baldwin had the second most RBIs in a single game by Atlanta rookie in Monday’s win over the Giants.

And the awesome thing is, performances like this have been the norm for Baldwin. This is mainly because he is exceeding expectations where many players his age, and many fellow Braves, struggle. Baldwin has a .895 OPS against LHP this season and a .916 OPS in RISP situations. He succeeds where we have seen so many others struggle over the past few years, and it is both refreshing and exciting for the future.

Baldwin should remain a top storyline for the rest of the season. He has earned everyday playing time, and is excelling in that role. Plus, if he wins NL Rookie of the Year, it could be valuable beyond just his performance for the Braves (extra draft pick.)

Braves News

Another Day, another reminder that Ronald Acuna Jr. is not of this world.

One other event to look forward too on the calendar is the 2025 Speedway Classic between the Braves and Reds in Bristol, TN on August 2nd. On Monday, both teams displayed their uniforms for the event.

Per multiple online sources, it seems that the Braves will be looking to increase ticket prices in 2026.

With both Sean Murphy and Drake Baldwin now regularly in the lineup, the Braves called up veteran catcher Sandy Leon and DFA’d Stuart Fairchild.

MLB News

The Brewers are now the best team in baseball.

Paul Skenes threw six shutout innings in win over Detroit.

Rich Hill will make an appearance for a 21st season when he takes the mound in a few days for the Royals.
