
Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday.
The Atlanta Braves made a couple of moves before Thursday’s series finale in Queens. The club announced that right-hander Michael Petersen had been recalled to Atlanta and left-hander Austin Cox was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

31-year-old Petersen contributed a scoreless inning during Thursday night’s loss to the New York Mets.
As for Cox, the southpaw has made two appearances this season and has not exceeded three innings of work.

Shortstop Wander Franco received a two-year prison sentence on Thursday after he was found guilty of sexual abuse.
