Braves News: Rafael Devers, Sunday Struggles, Grant Holmes, NL East Rivalries Ahead, More

The Braves win the weekend but come away with another bad Sunday performance.

The first week of June for the Braves was one of the worst the franchise had experienced in a decade.

This past week, they bounced back with a 4-2 record. However, after Sunday’s 10-1 loss to a team on pace to be one of the worst in baseball history, it feels as if very little positive momentum was created. Both offense and bullpen were up and down all week, despite excellent efforts from the starting staff.

Now, the Braves are in a position where they have to continue winning at a high clip. And this time, it must be against NL East division rivals. The Braves season could essentially be over by the end of June, if it is not already over. It will be intriguing to see how this team responds this week.

Braves News

Grant Holmes racked up 15 K’s in the loss to the Rockies, continuing to show that the starting rotation remains a strength of this team.

Didier Fuentes made his AAA debut over the weekend for the Stripers, continuing his fast ascension through the minors.

Before being traded to the Giants, the Braves reportedly inquired about the availability of Rafael Devers.

MLB Trade Rumors

As mentioned above, a major move was made by the Giants as they acquired Rafael Devers from the Red Sox.

For the Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani will take the mound tonight in a start for the Padres while Roki Sasaki is currently working his way back from injury.

The Nationals are promoting top hitting prospect Brady House.

Zach Wheeler of the Phillies plans to retire after the 2027 season.

The Padres placed Jackson Merrill on the concussion IL.
