Atlanta Braves news and notes from Saturday
The Braves’ franchise star seems to be in peak form upon his return from injury, in stark contrast to his return from the same injury three years ago. There had been plenty of speculation on how Acuna would look in his return, but he has hit the ground running, first in the minors and now in the majors, with two mammoth homers in two games for Atlanta. An MVP level bat at the top of the order (especially one with Ronald’s infectious energy) and replacing one of the Braves’ lackluster outfielders in the order is a huge boost to an offense that needed one. This team is entering a critical stretch against a string of quality teams, and needs to gain ground in the playoff race. A healthy Ronald Acuna firing on all cylinders is exactly what a team in that situation needs.
