Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday.

The time has finally come for Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. to return to the diamond just in time for the series with the San Diego Padres. It was reported that Acuña would be activated Friday.

27-year-old Acuña has not appeared in a major league game since May 26, 2024, where he suffered an ACL tear. He began his rehab assignment in mid-May and logged six games. He spent most of his time in Gwinnett, where he manufactured a .417 average and recorded five hits in five games.

He enters play at just the right time, as the Braves are looking to get back up to .500.

More Braves News:

The Braves fell in extra innings to the Washington Nationals, 8-7.

Owen Carey walked it off for the Augusta GreenJackets on Wednesday. More in the minor league recap.

MLB News:

The Colorado Rockies placed right-hander Chase Dollander on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm tightness. The move is retroactive to May 19.

Houston Astros righty Ronel Blanco will head to the 15-day injured list due to elbow inflammation. He will be getting a second opinion on his condition.
