27-year-old Acuña has not appeared in a major league game since May 26, 2024, where he suffered an ACL tear. He began his rehab assignment in mid-May and logged six games. He spent most of his time in Gwinnett, where he manufactured a .417 average and recorded five hits in five games.
He enters play at just the right time, as the Braves are looking to get back up to .500.
