Atlanta Braves news and notes from Saturday
Well, that was a very 2025 Braves game on Saturday night, even as a few of this year’s underperformers showed some life. The Braves would likely have to win 45-50 of their remaining 65 games to make the playoffs at this point and their rotation features two real starters, so we can pretty much call this season a wrap for making the playoffs. The big things to watch for the rest of the season with a look toward the future are : 1. Avoiding major injuries, 2. What can they get and who do they sell at the trade deadline?, 3. Can Drake Baldwin win NL Rookie of the Year and earn Atlanta an extra first round pick?, 4. Do Nick Allen or Matt Olson win gold gloves?, 5. What alien feats will Ronald Acuna perform? and 6, Can Ozzie Albies and Michael Harris show something at the plate?
There are still things worth watching for, but man this season has been a disappointment.
