Atlanta Braves news and notes from Tuesday.
The Atlanta Braves were unsuccessful in Philadelphia on Tuesday and suffered a 2-0 shutout in the series opener. The Atlanta offense tallied five hits and was unable to provide any support for Spencer Strider, who went 4.2 innings, allowing one of the Phillies’ runs. Despite Strider taking the loss, he did record seven strikeouts and has shown some improvement after returning from the injured list.
The Braves look to even things up tonight in Philly behind AJ Smith-Shawver.
