Atlanta Braves news and notes from Saturday
The Braves managed to win another series with a chance at a much-needed sweep on Sunday behind a vintage Spencer Strider performance that was a sight for sore eyes. Strider’s velocity looked much more like we have been used to seeing from him than before his injuries and his strikeout stuff did too. With a whopping 13 strikeouts and 24 whiffs, it was a relief to see Spencer looking like his old self after a sub-par few weeks. His velocity and command did fall off later in the start, but it was very reassuring to see him look like the ace he was at least for four to five innings. Hopefully it was a sign for more to come.
