Atlanta Braves news and notes from Wednesday
Well the Braves got rained out of Wednesday’s game and will play a doubleheader Thursday. It’s not a bad day for some reflection after a rough few games for the offense, despite Ronald Acuna’s triumphant return. The Braves really need to turn it on here. They are 9.5 games back of the Phillies in the division, 3 games below .500, and 5.5 games back in the wildcard. It’s only the beginning of June, but that’s a substantial way through the season at this point and the Braves just haven’t been good enough. They have a pretty tough stretch that they are in the beginning of now and if they don’t figure things out they could easily find themselves at the bottom of a much more substantial hole than they are already in almost halfway through the season. They simply have already blown much of the margin for error they had from the talent on the roster. It’s time to put up some results.
