Atlanta Braves news and notes from Friday.
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d’Arnaud experienced what could have turned into a scary injury during Friday’s contest with the San Diego Padres. In the fifth inning, d’Arnaud took a foul ball off his face mask which led to his early exit.

Another concussion was the main concern for d’Arnaud, who has already suffered four. Fortunately, the likelihood of a concussion is slim, and he has just been diagnosed with a head contusion. He will be evaluated again tomorrow.
With Sean Murphy still out of the lineup (but set to make a rehab start soon), the Braves are in desperate need of good news regarding d’Arnaud’s injury.
