One of the worst weeks in nearly a decade for the Braves.
For much of this season, many have been looking for consistency from the Atlanta Braves. Well, in a way they have finally found it, but just in the worst way possible. Over the weekend, the Braves experienced three straight one run losses to the Giants, including Sunday’s 4-3 defeat (the only one that was not a walk-off).
Through 64 games this season, the Braves now have 19 losses by one run. That is that most any team has had through 64 regular season games since the 1992 Dodgers. And unfortunately, these type of games are likely too continue until Atlanta’s offense can score more than 3 to 4 runs per game. It all again comes back down to the offense, which at this point is anyone’s guess as to when, or if, it will wake up this season.

In his latest news and notes from around the league, Bob Nightengale suggested that Brian Snitker’s job would likely not be in jeopardy during the season. Furthermore, Nightengale made it seem as if the likely scenario, at least for now, is that Snitker will retire at the end of the season.
The Braves added Jose Ruiz to the Braves roster and optioned lefty Austin Cox back to the minors.
Cam Caminiti returned to the mound for Augusta over the weekend and had a very encouraging start as he looks to take off on the mound this season.
Mark Bowman looks at how, even as it seems more and more unlikely, the Braves could still make a playoff run that would not be unprecedented.
