Jimmy Herget heads to the injured list with shoulder inflammation.
The Atlanta Braves announced a roster move ahead of Saturday’s matchup against the Washington Nationals. The Braves placed reliever Jimmy Herget on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. Daysbel Hernandez was recalled to take Herget’s spot on the roster.

Herget came over from the Angels on May 2 and has appeared in five games out of the bullpen while allowing three runs in 7 1⁄3 innings. He has been used in mostly mop up duty.
Hernandez had an earlier stint on the active roster where he allowed three hits and an unearned run in two innings. He’s spent most of the season at Gwinnett where he has a 2.29 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 19 2⁄3 innings.
It may be a short stay for Hernandez on the active roster as the Braves are planning to promote pitching prospect Hurston Waldrep to start Sunday’s series finale in Washington.
