Atlanta’s historic bullpen meltdown is leading to a flurry of roster moves.
After today’s historic collapse in their 11-10 loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Atlanta Braves have recalled left-handed reliever Dylan Dodd from Triple-A.
Along with the reported summons of former Braves closer Craig Kimbrel from Gwinnett, the team is also placing reliever Daysbel Hernandez on the 15-day IL and designating right-handed reliever Scott Blewett for assignment, according to a report by The Athletic’s David O’Brien.
In addition to bringing up Craig Kimbrel, the #Braves are going to put RH Daysbel Hernández on the IL, a source told The Athletic, and they’ve DFA’d RH Scott Blewett and and recalled LH Dylan Dodd.

The Braves bullpen – Blewett and struggling closer Raisel Iglesias specifically – allowed seven runs in the ninth inning as the Diamondbacks won a game after trailing by six runs or more in the ninth inning for the first time in team history. For Atlanta, they blew a seven-run lead in the ninth for the first time since July 1973.
Blewett, 29, had pitched well in most of his outings with Atlanta – including two, two-inning appearances in extra-innings when he allowed no runs – but gave up five runs in today, and was the 40-man roster spot needed to get Kimbrel up from the Stripers.
Hernandez left last night’s game after experiencing numbness in his fingers.
Dodd was been up twice with Atlanta this season – finally appearing in two contests prior to being optioned last week.
Kimbrel, the organization’s all-time leader in saves who also ranks fifth in baseball history for the mark, will be returning to Atlanta for the first time since being traded in 2015. The 37-year-old was signed to a minor league contract by the Braves during Spring Training and has pitched in 15 games with the Stripers.
