If it ain’t broke…
The Braves have been rolling offensively the last few weeks, especially since Alex Verdugo slotted into the top of the order. Check out these stats:
The Braves started 0-7 in disastrous fashion.
Since then, Atlanta leads the NL in wRC+ (121), home runs (31), slugging percentage (.452), and wOBA (.351) while averaging 4.95 runs per game.
Non coincidentally, the Braves are 13-8 over that span, which is a 100-win pace.

On Tuesday, the Braves will face veteran righty German Marquez and roll out their usual lineup. Marquez owns an ERA of 9.30 through five starts and has really been fighting it.
Nick Allen is at shortstop, red-hot Eli White is in right field, Verdugo leads off, and the rest of the lineup remains the same:

As for the Rockies, they will send out the following against rookie AJ Smith-Shawver, who was recalled on Tuesday afternoon.

The Rockies rank last in the National League in runs scored this season despite playing half their games at the hitter paradise known as Coors Field. Hopefully, the Braves can continue to keep their bats quiet on Tuesday. After a first inning three-run homer against Bryce Elder, Colorado wasn’t able to get much of anything going the rest of the night in game one of the series.
First pitch from Denver is set for 8:40 p.m. ET.
