Introducing Dixon Williams
Dixon Williams is an infielder from East Carolina who broke out in summer ball last year when he won MVP of the New England Collegiate League following a step forward in 2024. He came into this year and continued to produce and while he was listed as a shortstop, the Braves announced him as a second baseman. He’s a former multi-sport athlete who seems to be making his gains now that he’s started to adjust to full-time baseball, but he’s a lefty hitter who can hit for some average and power. The best may still be yet to come for him.
First Reaction
It’s been an infielder-heavy draft, and the Braves add a player with an advanced approach at the plate with more upside than typical from a college bat. The Braves have coveted college players with high on base potential that they believe have more power in the tank, and Williams fits the bill perfectly.
