Williams is listed as an infielder, but also has experience in the corner outfield spots. He will move into the 26th spot on the roster that receives very little playing time. Forrest Wall was a great story coming out of the spring and the thinking was that his pinch-running ability might provide some value, but he has appeared in just two games and has one plate appearance over the first 17 games of the season. He will head to Gwinnett where he can see regular playing time and could return if there is a need in the outfield. Wall will also be an ideal candidate as a pinch-runner for a potential playoff roster.
The Braves added David Fletcher to the roster earlier this week when Ozzie Albies went on the injured list.
