Well, at least some positive things are happening in ye olde cursed season. Both Sean Murphy and Drake Baldwin are in the lineup tonight, with Murphy DHing and Marcell Ozuna on the bench. Also, Nick Allen has moved up from the nine-hole for the first time since June 5.

This is actually their most common lineup to date, one they’ve used in four games before today. That said, they haven’t actually used this lineup in two weeks. The Cardinals move guys around defensively a fair bit due to versatility, so this has actually been the starting nine in more games than they’ve lined up in this exact fashion, and will be tied for their most-common starting nine after tonight’s game is in the books.
I would do batter-v-pitcher stuff, but the Braves aren’t really playing for success or general interest anymore, so that seems even more irrelevant than usual these days.
