The Braves look to take game three of a four game set against the nationals
The Atlanta Braves are taking on the Washington Nationals in the third game of a four-game set. The Braves have only scored six runs so far in this series and MacKenzie Gore stands in their way to score more.
Gore has had the Braves’ number for the most part with only Marcell Ozuna, Ozzie Albies, and Austin Riley having any success against him. To be fair, no Braves player has seen him for more than six at-bats though.
The biggest storyline is that Spencer Schwellenbach, who has only pitched two games at the AA level, is making his MLB debut. The 2021 John Olerud Award for best two-way player in college has torn through the minors with a 1.80 ERA this season with hitters struggling to a .191 average through 45.0 innings.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 ET.
