A whole host of former Braves players will be in the dugout for the Futures Game this season.
This season’s MLB All-Star Futures Game is going to have an Atlanta Braves feel to it and it’s not just because of the fact that Truist Park will be hosting the Midsummer Classic this year. The coaching staffs for both the National League and the American League teams will be full of former Braves players and coaches. The two headliners are the managers — Hall of Famer and former Braves legend Chipper Jones will manage the “home” NL team, while 1995 World Series Champion (and the man who caught the final out of that ‘95 World Series) Marquis Grissom will be in the away dugout managing the AL squad.
Here’s a quote from MLB’s press release on the matter:
Hall of Famer Chipper Jones and two-time All-Star Marquis Grissom will be featured as managers during the 2025 All-Star Futures Game on Saturday, July 12th at Truist Park in Atlanta, it was announced earlier today on MLB Network. Jones, leading the National League team, and Grissom, managing the American League team, will be joined in the dugouts by a decorated group of former Braves legends serving as coaches during the annual showcase, including Hall of Famer Fred McGriff, two-time NL Most Valuable Player Dale Murphy, five-time All-Star Andruw Jones and four-time All-Star Tim Hudson.
Yep, you read that last part correctly. They are bringing out the stars for this one, y’all. In addition to Chipper Jones and Marquis Grissom serving as managers for the two teams, the coaches staffs are loaded with big names and some names that’ll definitely make you go “Now that’s a name I haven’t heard for a long time.” Here’s a list of both coaching staffs:

The announcement of the coaching staffs for the Futures Game coincided with MLB announcing that single-day tickets for All-Star Saturday are now officially on sale, so this is clearly an effort on MLB’s part to have the building as packed as possible for both the Futures Game and the rest of the events that will be happening on that exciting Saturday. Is this enough for you to throw down for a ticket? Let us know!
