Braves look to head into All-Star break on a good note
The Atlanta Braves will look to head into the All-Star break on a positive note Sunday when they wrap up a three-game series against the Miami Marlins. Atlanta took the series opener on Friday with a 1-0 walk-off win but the Marlins answered back on Saturday defeating Max Fried 5-4. The Braves have won nine of the 11 meetings so far this season.
Dallas Keuchel will make his fourth start of the season for Atlanta on Sunday. He has seemed to progress through his first three outing culminating with a strong seven inning, two run performance in his last start against the Phillies. Having spent most of his career in the American League, Keuchel has faced the Marlins just twice allowing two earned runs in 12 combined innings.
Right-hander Trevor Richards will take the hill for Miami on Sunday and is looking to get himself back on track after a couple of so so outings. He has allowed 13 hits and nine earned runs over his last 10 innings. Richards has good numbers in two starts against the Braves this season. He has allowed just four hits and one run through 11 1/3 innings.
Ronald Acuña Jr. led off Saturday’s game with another home run and has tormented the Marlins in his short career. He has 11 career homers against Miami pitching and is 4-for-8 in his career against Richards.
Dansby Swanson set out the first two games of this series with a sore quadriceps. Brian Snitker said on Friday that he hoped to have Swanson back in the lineup on Sunday but we will have to wait and see if that happens.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on Fox Sports South.
