Rosario is with the club in St. Louis

The news on the injury front has been improving for the Atlanta Braves who could get another round of reinforcements for their roster soon. MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reported Thursday that injured outfielder Eddie Rosario is currently in St. Louis with the team and has taken batting practice the last two days. He is feeling good and could be ready to begin a rehab assignment as soon as next week.

Eddie Rosario (abdominal strain) has taken BP with the Braves here in St. Louis the past couple days and says he feels good. He’ll likely begin a rehab stint within the next week.

Rosario hasn’t played since July 5 when he suffered an abdominal injury while with Cleveland. The Braves acquired him in what amounted to a salary dump at the trade deadline. Once healthy, he will add another lefty option with some power to the outfield and the bench.

There was also some good news on the pitching front as well. Ian Anderson will began his own rehab assignment Thursday for Gwinnett. Huascar Ynoa is also currently scheduled to pitch for the Stripers on Friday.

Anderson went on the injured list following the All-Star break due to what was called shoulder inflammation. He resumed throwing and recently progressed to throwing off the mound. Ynoa began his rehab stint this past Sunday at Rome.
