The usual suspects are in their usual places and Forrest Wall gets another chance against a right-hander.

The lineups for the series opener between the Atlanta Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals are out. If you’re expecting surprises as far as the Braves are concerned, then you might be surprised to see that there’s no surprises as this is the same lineup (for the most part) that the team has been putting out there recently against right-handers.

So yeah, here’s the lineup for the Braves:

Ramón Laureano continues to start in right field regardless of who’s pitching, so that appears to be his spot for the time being. Jarred Kelenic has been doing really well as the leadoff hitter for the Braves so far, so he’s staying there and in center field. Left field has been the position that’s been in flux recently and it’s pretty easy to figure out: When there’s a lefty, your odds of seeing Adam Duvall are very strong. If there’s a righty, your odds of seeing Adam Duvall aren’t as strong. As such, the Braves are putting Forrest Wall out there. Wall has two hits in nine plate appearances so far this season.

On the other side, here’s what the Cardinals have going on:

The big news for the Cardinals is that Willson Contreras is back from his IL stint and set to start at catcher for St. Louis. Contreras left off with a .280/.398/.551 slash line with a .408 wOBA and a wRC+ of 169. Contreras had stormed out of the gates to start this season and it was really unfortunate that he ended up suffering a forearm fracture due to a wayward swing. Fortunately for the Cardinals, he’s back now and that alone should make this a tougher task for the Braves.

Tonight’s game is scheduled to start at 7:45 P.M. E.T. and can be seen on Bally Sports South and MLB Network only if you’re outside of the Atlanta viewing market.
