Freeman is out of the game after flying out in the first.

Freddie Freeman left Saturday’s game against the Washington Nationals in the first inning. Freeman flew out to center in the first and was then replaced in the lineup by Ehire Adrianza with Austin Riley moving across the diamond. The Braves announced that Freeman left the game as a precaution due to an upper respiratory infection.

The Braves obviously can’t afford to be without Freeman for any length of time. He has been scorching of late and that slow start to the 2021 season is now no more than a distant memory. He’s appeared in 110 games and is hitting .295/.396/.505 with 24 home runs and a 137 wRC+.

MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reports that Freeman experienced some dizziness in the first inning which would explain his early departure.
